New Name, New Look

Last month, we asked you, “what's in a name?” as we discussed this potential name change:

The results are in! An overwhelming 95% of our members surveyed were in support of the name change to SHAPE America: The Society of Health and Physical Educators. The board looked through the feedback, both in favor and not in favor to guide the decision whether or not we move forward with a new name. Last week, the board of directors unanimously voted in favor to accept the new name.

We have one more question we need your help in answering, and that’s “what is in a logo?”

For an organization, the purpose of a logo is to give a visual representation of who we are. We need something unique, high impact, and eye-catching! We were fortunate to work with an experienced graphic designer, Nicole Trusa to help bring our brand to life. We have two potential logos she designed exclusively for us, and now we need your feedback to help us choose!

Both logos pay homage to our great state of Pennsylvania by utilizing our state colors. The icon of the person not only shows someone reaching for the stars, as in reaching for their goals. It also symbolizes us as an organization reaching for our star, our vision of overall wellness in PA.

The icon representing a person is neutral and shows that wellness comes in all shapes, sizes, ages, and colors. We are truly excited about both of these options. So much so that we need your help to decide! So, which t-shirt would you rather wear?
