Professional Awards:


Arnold Fink Award – One time award for an outstanding professional who is considered a visionary leader in health and physical education, curriculum, and practice. (Must have 10 years of professional teaching experience)


D. Marian Franck Service Award – Presented to a LLAHPERD member who has provided unusual and extended service in the local association.


Chick Hungerford Award – One time award for meritorious service to the profession as well as professional associations of LLAHPERD and PSAHPERD.


T.O.Y Awards  Teacher of the Year Award

Teacher of The Year Awards are given to teachers who display the characteristics of an exemplary teacher in their specific area of instruction.


Elementary, Middle School, High School Physical Education and Health Education

Criteria for Teacher of the Year:


A.      Conducts a quality Physical Education Program as reflected in NASPE Standards and guidelines for K-12 Physical Education Programs.

B.      Utilizes various teaching methodologies and plans innovate learning experiences to meet the needs of all students.

C.      Serves as a positive role model epitomizing personal health and fitness, enjoyment of activity, sportsmanship, and sensitivity to the needs of students.

D.      Participates in professional development opportunities
